I'm Joe Normal, Joe Cool...

I saw this test on Lam's blog and decided to give it a go... Phew... I'm not even near to being a NERD... lalala... Lam's a NERD...

Joe Normal
47 % Nerd, 30% Geek, 39% Dork
For The Record:

A Nerd is someone who is passionate about learning/being smart/academia.

A Geek is someone who is passionate about some particular area or subject, often an obscure or difficult one.

A Dork is someone who has difficulty with common social expectations/interactions.

You scored less than half in all three, earning you the title of: Joe Normal.

This is not to say that you don't have some Nerd, Geek or Dork inside of you--we all do, and you can see the percentages you have right above. This is just to say that none of those qualities stand out so much as to define you. Sure, you enjoy an episode of Star Trek now and again, and yeah, you kinda enjoyed a few classes back in the day. And, once in a while, you stumble while walking down the street even though there was nothing there to cause you to trip. But, for the most part, you look and act fairly typically, and aren't much of an outcast.

I'd say there's a fair chance someone asked you to take this test. In any event, fairly normal.

Congratulations!

If you enjoyed this test, I would love the feedback!

Also, you might want to check out some of my other tests if you're interested in any of the following:

Dota Freak!

Yes, I'm a Dota freak now.. Gao, Lam, Mike and I dota-ed till 4am for the past 2 nights.. Yikes..

I think we're really getting old and boring. Last night Xiaohui & I reached Junior's place at 8 plus to bai nian, but after a few rounds of blackjack, Paul had to leave, so all those staying in the east left with Paul... Leaving those staying in the west behind, I can't believe we were so "un-haps" and left after one "feng" of mahjong. Its not even one "round". We left Junior's place at ten-ish. Gosh... that's how boring we were...

I can't believe how much I spent on dota ever since I came back. I think the amount we spent playing dota in LAN shops is enough to get us each one copy of original Frozen Throne. Then we can play dota on battle net instead of going to LAN shops in the middle of the night... Seriously... Gao and I are thinking of getting the original copy soon... Right GAO???

Anyway, the pics I'm gonna post is a bit out of point, but they're so cute I just wanna share... (I how niceee?)

This cat is Jonathan's adopted cat. Its like how cute... Just like "Puss in Boots"...

Simon's dog, his name is Ke Li, very cute but a bit crazy...

That's all for now, time for my beauty sleep!

Happy Happy CNY!!

Happy Chinese New Year Everyone!! Lets bid farewell to the year of the rooster and usher in the year of the Dog.. (woof!) I love CNY, its the season to have fun, receive loads of ang pow, visit relatives, gamble and eat! yum... I love pineapple tarts...

This year isnt a good year for those born in the year of the dog... I've been watching those CNY programs and the fortune teller said that its an unlucky year for us.. sigh, yeah, I'm born in the year of the dog... According to him, the doggies will face several mishaps and our luck would be so bad the chances of us striking lottery is like 0.1%? okay, I'm exaggerating, he just said that the chances are low... And what can we doggies do to avert the disasters? Some advice offered by him:

1. Control my temper/emotions - huh... like how...
2. Shower & swim more - ??
3. Wear my lucky colours, red & green more often - er... then I'll look like a Christmas tree... or worse, a chilli padi...
4. Befriend those born in the year of the rabbit cos they're supposed to be very lucky this year - erm, those born in the year of the rabbit pls raise your hand, you're gonna be my next best friend... hur hur...

Okay, I shouldnt be taking this too seriously, so lets move on...

I was kinda bored while travelling from one house to another, so I took a pic of myself!

So PWETTTYYYY!! =P err.. haha.. (Psst! Lixuan! I'm wearing the necklace you gave me! )

After 9 Days of Work

The past 9 days were the busiest days of holidays eversince I got back. Was working for Simon's company, doing some logistics stuff for him (eg: calling people to go for some survey and acting as a receptionist cum secretary) and the 9 days that I've worked earned me about $400. Yay, means I have money to go shopping... Hur hur... So much for saving for a rainy day...

I went JB with my momma today to dye hair. Yes, I'm doing weird stuff to my hair again. I have this fetish of "taking care" of my hair, its my crowning glory, so needa make sure its pretty ma... Anyway, I dyed it black and highlighted it red. It looks damned cool la... =P

I was reading the m'sian version of FEMALE and I came across this article: Sleep Yourself Slim. How? Let moi enlighten you...

According to the article, the lack of sleep causes some hormonal imbalance in the body,(really?? I didn't know that) in particular, reducing the amount of Leptin produced (okay, its a hormone that causes you to feel full). Hence, the reduced amount of Leptin causes one to overeat (yah, makes sense coz you constantly feel hungry) and therefore leads to obesity. Americans, on the average sleep lesser hours than those people of the modern world. Americans have a higher rate of obesity. (HUHhh, I thought its because of their oily diet...)

So... I think I've put on weight recently... It must be due to the lack of sleep.. Hur hur...

Anyway, I thought this article was really interesting... Did I bore anyone to death?

My friend and I went to this place called Island Creamery last week, we thought its a really cool place, seems like a cosy place to hang out and have some yummy ice-cream... Oh, and their ice-cream are made daily, so its supposedly very fresh!

I'm Cool...

Your Dress Personality: Cool

Your Personality
You give people the cool and chic impression. You're strong-willed and independent, and you've got character - you know exactly what you want in life and you're all out to conquer. Because of your cool exterior, men tend to feel intimidated by your femme fatale looks.

Your Dress Style
Your dressing is simple but sometimes edgy, giving people a glimpse of your rebellious nature. But more often than not, you're geared in basic casuals (mostly blacks and neutrals). With your no-nonsense attitude towards fashion and hype, you don't care two hoots about the latest trends or hottest fad. Way to go, girl!

Raising $100k

I saw this on my friend's blog, lets all put in a lil something for the poor boy?
Call Mrs Tan at 64571006 if you wanna make any contributions

Trying to raise S$100K without going through the newspaper, and also without any charity shows is no mean feat.

Why the $100K? Let me narrate the story.

This is David. He is an orphan from China. Nobody knows how old he is, but we speculate that he is 1 1/2 years. He has a mind of his own, often exerting his position in his foster family. He scolds and cries loudly. Best of all, he simply loves to eat. He has a sweet tooth, loving any sort of sweets & chocolates or food in general. The two phrases that always pops out of his mouth are "eat" and "I don't want". His expression of "I don't want" comes with shaking his 5 pound head and ferocious waving of his two hands.

The heart has a wall that separates oxgenated and deoxgenated blood.
Imagine that the wall has a hole...
Now imagine your heart has it's arteries in the wrong position of the heart, meaning, the oxgenated blood is going into the wrong place of the heart.
Imagine the both together now.
Imagine David having these problems.

We went to visit the heart doctor yesterday and he has informed that David's heart condition has deterriorated. The operation needs to be scheduled soon. Thus, I have been typing donation appeal letters.

Oh perhaps, you are asking why am I doing it? It's simple. David stays with my family.

Now, let me try asking this, why does a charity who has gotten almost $6 million from donors unwillingly to spare some? It does speak a lot for the charity, doesn't it?

Tagged...

The Rules: People who get tagged need to write an entry about their five weird habits as well as state this rule clearly. In the end, choose the next five people to be tagged and link to their web journals.

Errr.. the following are listed not in order of level of weirdness

Weird Habit #1:

I rewatch programs/shows that have been repeated thousands of times. But that's only when I'm bored lah...

Weird Habit #2:

I like to take pictures of my right profile, coz it accentuates my better looking features!

Weird Habit #3:

I love noodles, any kind of noodles. (eg: wanton mee, prawn mee, fishball noodles...) When I was younger, my parents used to call me "Noodle Face" coz I ate too much noodles and my face was turning yellow.

Weird Habit #4:

The first feature I look out for in guys is their eyes. I like guys with "shy" eyes, it adds this touch of mystery in their overall profile.

Weird Habit #5:

I binge eat during exam periods when I'm stressed. Enough said.

Okay, now I need to tag 5 other people, but so many of my friends dont blog. So I shall change the rules a lil.. hur hur...

I tag DEAN, KAREN, LIXUAN, GAO & LAM

Those who dont have a blog can list their weird habits on "my comments" on my blog!

As for Gao, you can list yours at your multiply blog and Lam, your own blog!

Ta!

Happy Birthday To Me...

Yay, I'm celebrating my 21st birthday for the third time, how cool is that? (Er, not very..)

No elaborate celebrations for this year, afterall I'm no longer young & exciting like when I was 21... Had a lil gathering over lunch with Karen and Dean at Fish & Co, had a dinner treat from Gao at Pepper Lunch, had a mini surprise at a Cybercafe from the GANG and a yum cha session with my family & Lixuan. Awww, so nice to know that so many people still remember my birthday and actually made an effort to spend some time with me. I love you people loads! Thanks to all those who msged me to wish me happy birthday too, I know I'm in your hearts.. hur hur...

Some pics of the pressies I've received this year for my bday:

Family Portrait

I realised my family havent taken a family portrait in years. The last photograph my family took together was back in year 2001. How sad is that?

And so, I made this picture...

My parents produced 2 uni-grads, I feel happy for them actually. Everyone's telling my parents how "fortunate" they are for having 2 children who "can study". But they don't know that their son aint coming home, how "fortunate" is that? Sometimes I feel like staying in Singapore just to be with them, but I'm selfish I guess. I wanna venture, see the world and do things when I'm still young.

Sorry, dad & mom, give me another 5 years, I promise I'll come home and repay my debt to you.

Keys to my heart?

OMG! So true!

The Keys to Your Heart

You are attracted to those who are unbridled, untrammeled, and free.

In love, you feel the most alive when your lover is creative and never lets you feel bored.

You'd like to your lover to think you are loyal and faithful... that you'll never change.

You would be forced to break up with someone who was emotional, moody, and difficult to please.

Your ideal relationship is open. Both of you can talk about everything... no secrets.

Your risk of cheating is zero. You care about society and morality. You would never break a commitment.

You think of marriage as something precious. You'll treasure marriage and treat it as sacred.

In this moment, you think of love as commitment. Love only works when both people are totally devoted.

What Age Do I Act?

GAWD... I thought I am young at heart... =(

You Are 23 Years Old

Under 12: You are a kid at heart. You still have an optimistic life view - and you look at the world with awe.

13-19: You are a teenager at heart. You question authority and are still trying to find your place in this world.

20-29: You are a twentysomething at heart. You feel excited about what's to come... love, work, and new experiences.

30-39: You are a thirtysomething at heart. You've had a taste of success and true love, but you want more!

40+: You are a mature adult. You've been through most of the ups and downs of life already. Now you get to sit back and relax.

Life Is Like A Boat

Nobody knows who I really am,
I've never felt this empty before.
And if I ever need someone to come along,
Who's gonna comfort me and keep me strong?

We are all rowing a boat of fate
The waves keep on coming and we can't escape
But if we ever get lost on our way
The waves will guide you through another day

Nobody knows who I really am
Maybe they just don't give a damn
But if I ever need someone to come along
I know you will follow me and keep me strong

And every time I see your face
The oceans lead out to my heart
You make me wanna strain at the oars
And soon I can't see the shore

Oh, I can't see the shore...
When will I see the shore?

I want you to know who I really am
I never thought I'd feel this way toward you
And if you ever need someone to come along
I will follow you and keep you strong

And everytime I see your face
The oceans lead out to my heart
You make me wanna strain at the oars
And soon I can't see the shore

On New Year's Eve...

Someone once said I'm a boyish kind of girl. Well, I did something very girly today. I sorted out all my earrings, chucked out those that can't be worn and kept those that can be worn in little cute boxes. So pleased with myself... heh

So pretty!!! Think I'm gonna get more of these cute boxes... got more earrings to keep in them... I just realised I've got more than 30 pairs of earrings! Urghhh....

Anyways, Happy NEW YEAR to all!!!

Days 7 & 8

End of Trip

Days 5 & 6

Days 5 to 8 are spent in Sydney, New South Wales. Its a cool place, with loads of people and high rise buildings, just like Melbourne, just like Singapore... When we were in the food court of the Hay Market, I really felt like I was home. The decor, the layout of the place and even the food sold were pretty similar to that of SGP's. Especially the one at Plaza Singapura!

Anyways, I just need to tell everyone how we got from Melbourne to Sydney. We took a coach there, yes, a coach, BUS. It took us 12 hours to get there. The journey was long and ardous, not exactly a wonderful experience for me. Oh well, maybe I'm just not the backpacker material. :(

Pic 1: Sydney Bondi Beach - One of the most popular beaches in Sydney, its the place where the 2000 Sydney Olympics for Beach Volleyball was held. Cool place, so many people tanning and cute guys surfing. We spent 2 hours having dinner at a restaurant along the beach... & people watching...

Pic 2: Another magnificent view of Bondi Beach

Pic 3: The Botanic Gardens in Sydney. Yes, it says Sex & Death...

Pic 4: I'm honing my photography skills at the Botanic Gardens, look at the pictures of the pretty flowers I took!

Pic 5: A bird I took...

Pic 6: The Botanic Garden also links to the Sydney Opera House... (That's where the finals of the Australian Idol is held!)

We went to Canberra, the capital state of Australia, its only a 3 hour drive away from Sydney.

Pic 7: The Parliament House

Pic 8: Canberra War Memorial. Oh, they feature stories of how Singapore fell into the hands of the Japanese as well!

Pic 9: Our tour guide brought us to this place where we can have a panoramic view of Canberra...

Pic 10: Oh we went to the National Museum as well... I took an artsy fartsy picture.. heh heh... This structure is part of the Aboriginal Culture...

k.. that's all for now... days 7 & 8 will be coming soon.

Continuation of the trip: Days 3 and 4

Okie, time to update on my Victoria - New South Wales trip

Day 3 - City Tour

Because we booked 2 tours from the same travel agency, we were given a free half day city tour. I spent most of the time nodding away in the travel coach cos it was simply too comfy! It was raining and rainy days are best for sleeping in... heh heh...

Anyways, after the blurry city tour, we meet our friend's brother who brought us around trying out different chocolate shops.

Pic 1: Max Brenner Chocolates (I think we have one at the Esplanade, dont we?)

Pic 2: Me kissing the cup

Pic 3: Joyce & I posing at the South bank, with the city of Melbourne behind us!

Pic 4: Me "wearing" a huge crown at the Crown Casino

Day 4: We went to this place called Sovereign Hill, according to the guides, it used to be a mining town. The gold rush began when a lil gold was found (something like 3 grams?! or is it 3 kilograms??) Anyways, after all the gold has been dug out, the place is converted to a tourist attraction to attract stupid people like us. =P

Pic 5: Some gold mining structure

Pic 6: Me trying my luck at panning some gold

Pic 7: Me trying to be vain in a "hat" shop

Pic 8: Picture of a gold bar that was made on the spot during the trip

Pic 9: Some people performing and 2 very adorable kids watching intently

The Countdown

6 more days before I finally go home. Happy and sad at the same time. Can't wait to go home to see everyone and of coz go on shopping sprees. Heh, its not fun shopping here in aussieland coz everything's so expensive.. sigh.. kinda looking forward to going home and be a lil extravagant. Havent cut my hair in ages too, can't wait to do stupid things to my hair again.. heh heh...

BUT, there's Mr Mikey I cant bear to leave behind too, budden again, he's been getting on my nerves these few days too. I think its coz I've got absolutely nothing to do these days and spending every single minute and every single second with him just causes more friction and we end up quarrelling so much more. Sigh...

Anyways, some good news. I just got my results for this semester, 4 Distinctions and 1 High distinction. Some say this is very good results, but I felt like I could have done better. So I was a lil disappointed when I only got one HD. Oh well, I guess I just have to work harder next semester. The semester which everyone says is a killer one. Yucks, not looking forward to it.

Will update my holiday pics later...

I'm Back!

Finally back from my week long trip. Spent 4 days in Melbourne Victoria and 3 days in Sydney New South Wales. Gonna bring ya through my trip day by day...

Day 1: Melbourne City

The first day of our tour happened to coincide with an event going on in the city - the Suzuki Night Market. As the name suggests, the market is organised by the automobile company Suzuki. I think its just like our "pasar malam" or "bazaar", just that its a super major scaled one compared to ours.

Pic 1: Mirror I found in the market (Very suitable for ah hu!!)

Pic 2: Cupcakes!! So pwetty!!

Pic 3: Chocolate fountain (yum! but $3 for one small scoop... Sigh...)

Day 2 - Great Ocean Road
We spent three quarters of the time in the coach, travelling along the coast, to see the 12 apostles. The scenary is breath taking, but the butt is really aching...

Pic 4: The 12 Apostles

Pic 5: Joyce and I at one of the look out points

Okay, that's all for now, will update the other days sequentially again when I'm in the mood...
