Tennis season!

My my my... I can't believe the French Open started yesterday! I was still thinking to myself when I should re-subscribe to the sports channels.. haha...

Anyway I just called Starhub and reconnected the sports group! Roland Garros here I come!!

My preview to this clay-court season...

Rafael Nadal - 2007 Winner (also 2005 & 2006 winner!)

Although I think he's going strong this season, I still kinda hope this larakin will prevail...

Novak Djokovic!! He's like... how... how... very... very... extremely... cute!! (also, its because I'm tired of seeing Nadal tugging the back of his pants... its how very unsightly...)

Also... We can never underestimate this champion... although... I'm also quite sian of him winning almost EVERY tournament he participates in...

As for the Ladies...

Justine Henin - 2007 Winner

Sadly she decided to retire just before the start of this tournament, leaving the spot up for grabs for almost anyone!

Liyan's personal take - The Serbian ladies!

Jelena Jankovic AND Anna Ivanovic

Either lady wins I'll be damn happy :)

And after French Open is.... Wimbledon!!

Non-stop tennis action for this girl :)

So happiee.... wheeeeeeeee

kk... time to tune in to Ch 22 !!

Yayness!

Look at my Knock-knock satchel... how cute!

And my new ballet flats... (my current one is almost gone...)

Love them!

Small things like that make me happy already =)

Heard this poem from the movie Harold & Kumar. Its pretty cool...

"I’m sure that I will always be
A lonely number like root three

The three is all that’s good and right,
Why must my three keep out of sight
Beneath the vicious square root sign,
I wish instead I were a nine

For nine could thwart this evil trick,
with just some quick arithmetic

I know I’ll never see the sun, as 1.7321
Such is my reality, a sad irrationality

When hark! What is this I see,
Another square root of a three

As quietly co-waltzing by,
Together now we multiply
To form a number we prefer,
Rejoicing as an integer

We break free from our mortal bonds
With the wave of magic wands

Our square root signs become unglued
Your love for me has been renewed"

-David Kleinberg

Not bad yah??

Lazy Wednesday

Took the arvo off to meet ah Hu & Gaoster for lunch :)

Its the Science Park Healthy lifestyle week and I've been engaging in intense physical activity for the past 2 days. Heh... Played netball on Monday (our team got to the semi-finals!) and played street soccer on Tuesday (our team will play for 3rd/4th position on Friday). We'll be playing netball and soccer again on Friday for the semi-finals and finals :) Feels good to be on the winning team :P

So anyways... My whole body is aching, plus i fell down so my butt hurts... so I decided to take the arvo off! Had lunch with ah Hu and Gao at Vivocity. (Food court food costs so much now... I think inflation rate is much more than our pay rise leh...) After that Gao and I went to catch Harold and Kumar. Its been a while since I paid $7.50 for movies... haha.. cheap thrill...

Anyway the show was pretty slapstick. So if you're in for some brainless humour, go catch it!

On a side note. On Monday night I forgot to wind up the window of my car. My heart also skipped a beat when I saw the open window on Tuesday morning. *gulp* Thank God that nothing was lost. Its also good and reassuring to know that I live in a safe environment that even though my window was left open, people are honest enough to not steal my car... heh... The same can't be said if it happened in a different country!

Saturday

I spent my Saturday night..... sleeping! (zzz)

Can't believe I slept for 12 hours straight... haha.. (apparently not so surprising for those who know me :P )

Not my fault mah... I slept at 4am on Friday night, soooo tiring ok!

Had mother's day lunch on Saturday at some Chinese Szechuan restaurant, not very good. I think the Ba Zhu Restaurant which Shan & Zhixian brought me to in Adelaide was much much nicer!

Then I met Dean at Peninsular to buy skinny jeans! Dean bought 1 grey coloured pair (it looks sooo sexy on her! Sigh, the benefits of having skinny legs!) And I bought 2... haha... one skinny and one not-so-skinny... Thunder thighs... sigh...

And I bought a pair of skates today!! Went to Skateline at Peninsular. The lady was so nice! Patiently explained the workings of the skates to me, how can I not buy from her? Haha, I bought a pretty cheap pair (<$200), a beginner's pair... when I become more zai, I'll get an expert pair! =)

Dean took a short video of me skating.. haha! check out her blog!

Can't wait to test out my skates! Anyone wants to join me?

New Stuff

Mum went to China for a holiday and bought stuff for me (yippeee!)

Its the month of May, I think I'm supposed to buy stuff for her for mother's day lor... but... hurhur... she's the one who's buying stuff for me!

There's the Adidas t-shirt for the Beijing games...

And the perfume that I've been eyeing for ages...

It comes with a mini pouch... so pwetty!

And and and... a pair of "coral" earrings and bangle...

They're quite pwetty too... :P

I made a pair of glasses on Saturday cos I can't seem to find my "spare" pair. I also found out that my degree has increased... *sigh* that's for staring into the computer screen for 8 hours a day!

My new nerdy look!

Okay, I was just being vain... :P

A walk down memory lane...

Was listening to some songs from the 1990s... Think the tunes and lyrics are much simpler compared to current day music... how nostalgic.. I can foresee myself as those aunties who will tune in to 958 or 972 to listen to the oldies... Oh noooooooooooooooooooo

Don't judge me... Judge me when I officially become an auntie !!

Mission XHQOC

Friday & Saturday was spent working on Mission XHQOC (which stands for XiaoHui's Quarter Of Century birthday party!!)

The peeps and I bought a Tiffany & Co charm thingy for her that was outrageously priced (but as long as she likes it!)... and shopping for party stuff to decorate the Mission "site"... I had to lie to her saying that I can't meet her to chill out because I was out on a "secret date"! Only that girl will believe me... :P

On Saturday, as part of the advanced party, Gaoster, Mimi & I went early to decorate the place and prepare the stuff... We sort of decided if our careers fail to soar, we'll set up a party planner business, just like David Tutera! (the dude on Travel & Living)

Alright, let the pictures do the talking!

Twinkle twinkle little star...

What's a party without balloons?!?! Dom wanted to save $6, so we didn't get a balloon pump.. thankfully, Gao's chest was big(strong?) enough to blow up 100 balloons!!

Princess & the prince!

She looks giganormous...

And I have seriously no idea what/who she's trying to prove...

Happy Birthday Sweetie!!! You're a quarter of a century old!! Yay!!

(Just like me... :P)

P.S Dean commented that the blog pic is very nice... Decided to upload more of Joyce's artwork to share!

Of cos, the zhu jiao of the pictures... has to be ME!!!

May Day Holiday!

Its a looong wkend for me! Haven't had such a long break since CNY earlier this year...

The long wkend started on Wednesday evening at Jerry's @ Jln Kayu. Its a western restaurant for those who don't know...

For starters!

Its buffalo wings & deep fried mushroom (apparently the batter for the mushrooms are special home-made recipe!) You can choose the spiciness intensity for the buffalo wings and we got the medium one I think... its not really that spicy (for me lah!) and we thought it tasted so-so only. The deep fried mushrooms on the other hand was REALLY GOOD! Succulent and dripping with mushroom juice! Yummz...

Our mains...

I had a rib-eye steak with mushroom sauce (yes, i love srooms :P)

Dean had cheese burger!

Dean looking greedy!

and Karen had mushroom soup... (she's on diet!! :P preparing to look pretty for her wedding thats coming up real soon...)

May day itself was spent with Daddy and some self-pampering... Pedicure! My nails finally grew bigger (and the manicurist finally stopped complaining about my tiny nail beds...) and it looks so much prettier than before.. haha.. no more one-line toe nails!

More updates on my wkend to come :)
