Its Showtime!

I went to the Royal Adelaide Show today, it was superb! Its like an annual funfair/carnival thing, where there's thrilling rides and games that can win soft-toys. On top of that, there's dog shows, photo/art exhibitions, horticulture stuff, mini farms and loads of other stuff including fireworks display! I spent 7 full hours there, walking till my legs can't hold on. We took one of those exciting rides, its called "Hang Over", its actually the same as "Top Gun" back home, just that "Hang Over" lasts for a much longer time compared to "Top Gun". But then, we paid 6 bucks for the ride, so I guess it should last longer since its so much more expensive! But the ride was worth it, I screamed till my lungs voice went hoarse and clung onto the railings for my dear life that my arms almost gave way. My arms are still sore as I'm typing this entry.

The soft toys up for grabs there at the show were really cute and I'm dying to have one of those Carebears. Carebears are like extinct back in SGP, even if they're available, they're so expensive. Anyway, the game that we played required us to throw a soft ball like thingy into a pail, without touching the rim. The guy at the station told us that if anyone of us can get the ball into the tub, we'll each win one carebear. So we paid $75 in total and had 105 throws. Guess what? None of the throws went inside the tub. Most of them touched the rim and so weren't counted. SO we effectively threw $75 away. Damnit. I think the stupid guy was out to con us of our money. It was so difficult to get the silly ball in. During the few trial throws that we had, we actually got most of them into the tub. I think they changed the balls during the actual game, coz the balls were lighter and bounced out of the stupid tub so easily. Conman, Cheat, Coconut.

Since I didn't get the Carebear I wanted, I bought myself a big Smiley faced cushion that was on half price. Its so soft and comfy to hug and its only $15! But after buying Smiley I had not much money left for anything else, which was kinda sad coz there were still cute stuff that I liked but couldn't afford! Sigh... Living overseas is costly... This excursion to the Royal Adelaide Show costs me $60, two weeks worth of grocery shopping...

At night, we went for the fireworks display. Its pretty much the same as those back home I think, but just looking at those colourful sparks burst into the sky, lighting up in the darkness makes me gasp in awe. During the full 10 minutes of the display I just sat there, admiring the beauty of it.
