This week has been SLOW. I've done nothing exciting, just staying home and doing assignments. The feeling of having to rush assignment suck. Although I feel like I'm on top of things, I just don't feel too good. I'm not stressed or anything, maybe just bored.
The only interesting thing I did this week was my hiking trip yesterday. I went to this place called Morialta Falls, which is about 1 hour from my school. Its like a super big MacRitchie reservior kind of place, with 3 waterfalls to look at. The walk from the start point to the apparently most magnificent waterfall was about 3km. Seriously, its not quite worth the walk. Firstly, waterfall was not very magnificent to begin with, secondly the walk was way too long (we took alot of pictures along the way, maybe thats why we took 2.5 hours to get there) and lastly we met a sex maniac on the way back. Yup, I'm not kidding. On our way back to the start point, we passed this stream and we saw this naked guy standing by the stream. He wasn't sun bathing and he knew we were gonna walk pass the stream coz he was walking behind us for a while and we let him go in front coz we're trying to be nice. He was out to show us gals his wee wee. How irritating. Did he think he was gonna pick anyone of us up by showing us his wee wee? Or is his wee wee his prized possession that he goes around showing it to everyone? Conclusion: He's a maniac.
Overall, the hiking trip was good. The sun was out, the weather was good (not too cold, not too warm, just nice!) had a picnic at the 3rd waterfall, the food we brought were good...
Today was housework day for me. I woke up at 9am, vacuumed the floors, mopped them, cleaned my room, washed my toilet, cleaned my sink, ironed my clothes and cooked lunch. Woah, can't believe I did all that in 4 hours. I'm becoming a professional housewife. =P After doing all the housework, I did school work. SEE!! I'm BORING! I can't help it!
Seriously, the boredom is killing me. I've still got more work to be done, but I'm just not in the mood. Mike and Shiling are in Brisbane now for the University games and I'm wondering what are they doing over there. Are they winning the games? Hows the party that they're going to everynight? Are they having fun? I can't wait for them to be back!
I'm not the only one who is feeling bored and knackered. Apparently Selina's feeling the heat from the work too. So she suggested going Marion to play arcade. Yeah, chance to get out of the house. I desperately need some fresh air.

Handbag Analogy
I feel like a handbag. Yes, I'm my brother's handbag. I was invited to his fiance's party at the City's casino pub and of coz I turned up. The people there were mostly Katherine and my brother's friends, basically, mostly ang mohs. So I felt kinda weird and out of place. My bro and Katherine could sense my boredom and started to introduce me to their friends, saying I'm JR's sister. Those people would just look at me, go "Hi, nice to meet you, so where are you studying? Enjoying Adelaide?" and thats it. They go back to their conversations among themselves. So I'm tagging to my bro, get introduced to his friends, his friends have a look at me, go "wow, nice handbag," and thats it. That feeling sucks. That's the kind of discrimination I get.
Stuff like that happen in school too. We're always following Shiling to frisbee trainings, and I feel like her handbag too. I'm not the only one who feels this way. Mike is American, but like me, he's asian, he gets the same kinda feeling too. So I'm not the only one being over sensitive. Why are those ang mohs so narrow minded? They should go Arab and experience the same kind of discrimination, then they'll know how we feel here.
The holiday week passed so quickly, I didn't even got much stuff done. Have like 7 assignments due after the holidays but I only completed one. The rest are either half done or havent even started. And its not like I've been playing alot. Well maybe. =P Definately didn't get anything done on Friday, but its not my fault! I had this annual Dietetics Association conference on Friday which occupied my entire day from 9-5pm. Then I went for Katherine's farewell party which means the entire day + night is burnt. On saturday I went grocery shopping at Marion, but since its a Saturday, I wasnt in the mood to study too. Hur hur. I was quite keen on going out to club on Saturday night, but the gals felt too lazy to go out, so we didn't. We just went over to Selina's place for dinner & chill out. Watched this funny movie called Team America which was damned hilarious! Luckily we had an American around to explain some stupid jokes which we SGP gals couldnt catch. I did little work on Sunday coz I woke up so late. When I say late I meant I woke up at 11am. Yes, thats considered late here. The sky darkens at 6, so waking up at 11 means you only get to see 7 hours of sunlight, and I don't like it... Anyway Sunday I was at Katherine's farewell thing with her family. So another day gone. Shit, looks like I gotta start work NOW.

I don't like SGP guys here...
What's wrong with the SGP guys here? Norman thinks that I like him just because I asked him to join us gals for a hiking trip. Norman is my new found SGP friend here and since the gals and I wanna go hiking, I thought the more people the merrier, so I asked Norman if he wanted to join us gals and be our "male chaperone". He went "ER, Er, Er, don't think so" and the next minute he changed his msn pic to one showing him and his girlfriend. Like telling me subtly that he's attached. I barely know him, I was only trying to be friendly and he thinks I like him. What the... I admit that I think he's quite cool especially with his superb volleyball skills, but that's all! I'm actually quite offended, being single doesnt mean I'm desperate and hit on guys that I barely know. And the worst thing is that he's 25, how juvenile can he get. Gosh... the SGP guys here are crap... (To the SGP guys back home, you guys are SUPERB :P)
Okay, now for some happier updates. The gals and I went yum cha on Tuesday, went to the famous Ding Hao chinese restuarant here. The food's really not bad, we gals ordered so much food and the bill only came up to 100 bucks. I love yum cha-ing with a big group coz I can get to eat a bit of everything and its not too expensive! =) After yum cha we gals split up. Shiling and gang went grocery shopping while Selina, Dawn & I went shopping at Rundle. Bought some clothes, but all sale items, like $10 jackets, hur hur, on a tight budget here. But overall, I'm still quite satisfied with the stuff I bought.
Spent half my Wednesday in the med library doing my assignments, I feel like a nerd already. Always hanging out in the library, gosh, I don't wanna be a nerd like Lam! Hur Hur, but I spent the other half of my day having fun. =) Accompanied my friend for some last minute shopping in the city, just needed to unwind and have take in some fresh air. By saying fresh air i meant air outside uni, its really boring living here in the mountains coz there's nothing to do but study.
Sigh, I'm still bored, gonna prepare for soccer...

I miss my ah hu...
I just read ah hu's blog again. And I actually teared while reading one paragraph written to me. Sigh, I miss ah hu and the days when we meet up ever so often for suppers at fong seng. The days when we just talked rubbish, the times when she's comforted me when I was upset, her silly princessy actions and of course, the times she's made me laugh. Especially now when I'm pms-ing, I miss her even more.
I liked what she said: "life's such an irony. the more u want something, the more it won't happen. it's like murphy's law. i think we should just sit back and relax instead of actively searching; the more u expect the greater are the chances of being disappointed. it's when u least expect it then u'll find urself enjoying the moment when it actually happens." how true and how meaningful. I'll take her advice, as of now I'll be concentrating on my studies here, not think so much and hopefully can score a few more high Ds at the end of the semester. I believe and will continue to believe that good things are worth waiting for.
Tomorrow will be a Better day!

Holidays!!
I went clubbing last night with the SGP gals and it was fun! The club we went to was at Marion, which is quite far from the city. The people at the club were like 99% angmohs and I felt quite intimidated. There were quite a few guys who tried to dance with us, or rather, tried to get fresh with us. But as I looked around, it seemed like everyone was groping everyone else. After a while, the guys who tried to "join" us, realised that no one was responding, left. I met my housemates at the same club, and they joined us for a while. It was the first time Sarah's boyfriend actually talked to me. Normally he comes over, smiles, and disappears into Sarah's room. But last night we danced together for a while and took photos as well. On the whole, the clubbing experience was fun, the dancing and drinking made everyone loosen up. Selina suggested going to the club in Chinatown next time, coz there'll be more Asians at the club and we won't feel so intimidated. Hmmm, not a bad idea... but I don't think we'll club anytime soon anway...
The SGP gals and I set up a stall at this Assemblage bazaar organized by the International Students' Association and we made money selling kueh lapis, pandan cake, konnyaku jelly and cornflake cookies. The money we made (about $100 intotal) will prolly go to pay for our upcoming yum cha session. Overall the Assemblage experience was really cool, we saw loads of performance by students from everywhere! There was drum performance by Aboriginal students, dance by Fiji-ans, belly dancing, salsa, samba and some other Indian dances. So interesting to see so many performances of different cultures, quite an eye opener!
I went to play volleyball on Tuesday as well. Got to know 2 SGP guys who were playing vball as well. One of them turned out to be my NUS junior's boyfriend. The world is so small! The other guy is from Temasek Poly. Did I mention that 60% of the SGP students here are from TP? Anyway he's from TP and he's in his 4th year (Hons year) doing Bach of Science. What impresses me is that he only played vball for one year, but he's REALLY good. I nearly thought he used to play for combined school team or even the National team... haha, a bit exaggerated. Anway, that's about all I have to update...

Wrong Interpretation
I feel like crap. I thought cute guy was especially nice to me, apparently not. He's nice to everyone, and seriously everyone. He was really funny during training today, mucking around, making a fool of himself and making everyone laugh. My friend told me that she thinks cute guy used to like her too coz he was really nice to her. But nothing developed after that coz she stopped for going for training. I kinda got the same feeling too, coz CG was really very sweet and always trying to create conversations with me. But I kinda realised today during training and he is genuinely nice and friendly to everyone. Oh well, misinterpretation of his actions, kinda disappointed, but at least now I've got a cool, fun and nice American friend who can make me laugh.
I just read ah hu's blog. She's a very blessed gal, always loved and cherished and I'm happy that she's leading a blissful life with her other half. I'm envious and I'm not afraid to show it. Its not that I'm dying to be attached, but its just that when you see all your good friends all basking in love, you tend to feel kinda lonely - emotionally. Fortunately the gals I hang out with here are all unattached, so at least I won't hear things like "I'm hanging out with my boyfriend this weekend", or things that make my single status stand out like bold prints. People always say good things are worth waiting for, yeah, easy to say. When you've waited for years and you still feel like you are at where you first started, you kinda lose hope. Yeah, I've more or less accepted the fact that I'd die as an old maid... Hur hur... I'm in a PMS mood.. So hopefully I won't feel this crabby tomorrow..

Its Showtime!
I went to the Royal Adelaide Show today, it was superb! Its like an annual funfair/carnival thing, where there's thrilling rides and games that can win soft-toys. On top of that, there's dog shows, photo/art exhibitions, horticulture stuff, mini farms and loads of other stuff including fireworks display! I spent 7 full hours there, walking till my legs can't hold on. We took one of those exciting rides, its called "Hang Over", its actually the same as "Top Gun" back home, just that "Hang Over" lasts for a much longer time compared to "Top Gun". But then, we paid 6 bucks for the ride, so I guess it should last longer since its so much more expensive! But the ride was worth it, I screamed till my lungs voice went hoarse and clung onto the railings for my dear life that my arms almost gave way. My arms are still sore as I'm typing this entry.
The soft toys up for grabs there at the show were really cute and I'm dying to have one of those Carebears. Carebears are like extinct back in SGP, even if they're available, they're so expensive. Anyway, the game that we played required us to throw a soft ball like thingy into a pail, without touching the rim. The guy at the station told us that if anyone of us can get the ball into the tub, we'll each win one carebear. So we paid $75 in total and had 105 throws. Guess what? None of the throws went inside the tub. Most of them touched the rim and so weren't counted. SO we effectively threw $75 away. Damnit. I think the stupid guy was out to con us of our money. It was so difficult to get the silly ball in. During the few trial throws that we had, we actually got most of them into the tub. I think they changed the balls during the actual game, coz the balls were lighter and bounced out of the stupid tub so easily. Conman, Cheat, Coconut.
Since I didn't get the Carebear I wanted, I bought myself a big Smiley faced cushion that was on half price. Its so soft and comfy to hug and its only $15! But after buying Smiley I had not much money left for anything else, which was kinda sad coz there were still cute stuff that I liked but couldn't afford! Sigh... Living overseas is costly... This excursion to the Royal Adelaide Show costs me $60, two weeks worth of grocery shopping...
At night, we went for the fireworks display. Its pretty much the same as those back home I think, but just looking at those colourful sparks burst into the sky, lighting up in the darkness makes me gasp in awe. During the full 10 minutes of the display I just sat there, admiring the beauty of it.

I bumped into him again...
Yes, I bumped into cute guy (CG) again. I took part in some photo competition organised by the hostel committee and today's the prize presentation. So I went to the community centre after school attend the "prize giving ceremony". To my surprise, CG was there too. He was having his TEA (aussie's way of saying Dinner). So since the ceremony didn't start on time, I sat down with him and chatted. Not alone thou, 2 of my friends came along and we all talked. The ceremony was kinda unofficial, so there wasnt a need to sit down in a prim and proper manner or watsoeva, so we kinda walked around and talked. I dunno if I'm being oversensitive, I kinda realised that CG was always standing beside me and talking to me. After that I gushed about him to my housemate again, and the first thing she asked was "Was he flirting with you during the conversation?" Bam! I had no idea. Its been so long since I've dated that I'm rusty at the dating skills. The next thing my housemate suggested was "Ask him out!" Err, I don't think I'll ever muster the courage to do something like that. I'm a tortoise stuck in my shell...

Its Spring!
Its finally Spring! The temperature today was 25 deg, but it feels likes 30 deg back home. I actually wore my mini skirt around & didn't feel cold. Yay! Flowers blooming, sun shining brightly and flies buzzing. Urgh. Yes, its a package. Spring = warm, comfortable temperature + millions of flies and insects. The feeling of a fly buzzing around my ear was torturing, even my constant flicking of my hair didn't help. Damn it.
Yesterday I was so looking forward to frisbee coz I thought the Adelaide Uni people are coming over for a game and I can have a chance to watch a proper game and take pictures (of my eye candies) to post online. BUT, somehow, the spot lights at the field weren't working and so the team went down to Adelaide Uni field to play instead. I could have gone along with the team to watch them play but I didn't coz I was the only newbie player who wanted to go. And since the other newbie players didn't wanna go, I thought it would be quite weird if I went along, so I stayed behind. Besides, I wasn't sure what time they were going to be back and I had class today, so I'd rather not take the risk. And so, I only played frisbee for 30 minutes, got warmed up and had to head home. What a waste of time.
I went for a jog today, the weather was so good I think its a waste not to bask in the sun. When I reached the Oval (the field where people go jogging), I saw a group of guys and 2 gals playing soccer. I was so tempted to self introduce and go join them! But I didn't, I don't have the courage to do stuff like that. As I looked longingly at the group of people playing soccer, cute guy appeared out of nowhere and looked like he was going to join them. He saw me jogging past and invited me to join them! Yay! The game was quite fun, but I think I'm really rusty at soccer, can't even kick the ball properly. The guys must be thinking I'm damn bimbo, wear short shorts to play soccer and can't even play well. So embarassing. Anway after the game, cute guy walked back home with me (he stays a few blocks away from me) and we talked. I was so nervous I started to stutter. Gosh, what's wrong with me! Anyway, he said I don't have a Singaporean accent, I wonder if that is a compliment? I figured coz all my housemates were Aussies, I kinda lost my singlish accent when I speak to non-Singaporeans. Which is good. I found out abit of stuff about cute guy. He's doing his 4th year of Uni, which means he's prolly around my age, he's majoring in Nano-tech, he's from Madisson Wisconsin blah blah blah... I went home and gushed about him to my housemate. After talking to my housemate, I realised that he's not that cute, but very charming. Gosh, I'm infatuated with him. Hur Hur..

A Hectic Week
This week has been crazy, I've never been so busy here before. And the stupid thing is, I'm busy doing rubbish. Monday was spent cleaning up the house and cooking for 6 meals, Tuesday school and volleyball, Wednesday school and frisbee, Thursday school and late night shopping at Marion and Friday school and grocery shopping in the city. Gosh, all not important, yet I spend so much time in all these activities leaving myself no time to do revision.
There was a major storm on Tuesday night. It was as if Katrina from New Orleans travelled all the way to Adelaide. Okay, exaggerating. But it was scary. The roof was creaking, the chairs on the balcony fell, the windows looked as if it was gonna break and the news weather report said to stay indoors. Wow, never experienced this before, kinda exciting but kinda scary too coz the infrastructure of the buildings here are made of wood and it feels like the builidng was gonna fly away anytime. The temperature also plunged from 20 to like 5 degrees, and despite the warning to stay indoors, we gals still went on to play volleyball at the school gym. My housemates were horrified when they saw me all ready to go out. They said I'd be blown away by the wind. Haha, but I made it back alive.
Wednesday's frisbee training lasted for 4 hours. The school team was supposed to play a friendly game against Adelaide Uni, but somehow it was postponed. I'm quite disappointed, I thought make use of this game to take photos of the frisbee people and show my friends the cute guys in the team. Guess my friends and I have to wait for another week then. I felt awkward during training when Shane was around. I could see that he was trying to start conversations with me and I didn't know how to react. My first instinct was to give him one word answers and simply walk away. I hope he gets the hint, otherwise I dunno what to do to let him know I'm not interested without offending him. Urgh..
Late night shopping at Marion was good. The shopping itself wasn't that fantastic thou. Dunno why they call it "LATE NIGHT" when the shops actually close at 9pm. The term "late night" back in SGP meant that the shops close at midnight. Vast difference. Anyway I bought some clothes in preparation for spring, can't wait to wear them when the temperature rises here! We missed the bus to go back, the buses here run on a strict time table. After 6pm, the buses only run on an hourly basis, so missing the bus meant that we gals have to wait an hour for the next bus. As it turns out, because we missed the bus, we had to go back to the shopping centre to kill the next hour (coz its too cold to wait outside) and lucky for me, I bumped into my eye candy from the medical school! Yay! Apparently he was there to do some fund raising thing for the pediatrics department. Then I realised my friend knows his friend, so I found out some stuff about him. His name is Jimmy, he's a first year medical student, he's from Canada and he is of mixed parentage (Thai & Chinese). But, I saw that he's wearing a ring. Like which guy will wear ring for no reason? So I guess he's attached, damned.. Bad luck for me!
I bumped into Jimmy again on Friday at the medical centre. He was counting the money he collected the night before at the lounge and I happened to be there for lunch. Initially, only his friend and him were in the lounge room together with Dawn and I. So I thought I could try and start a conversation, but in less than 3o mins, the entire lounge room seem to be flooded with medical students all joining in their conversation. Damn it!! The coward me eventually left the place without speaking to him. =(
There was a major storm on Tuesday night.
My House
Received a few requests on wanting to see the place I live in, so here it is! The first pic shows my room, the second my balcony, the third my kitchen cum dining area and the last one my lounge area. The house is relatively new, only 2 years old so the furnishings are clean and nice. My housemates are neat gals (maybe except for one) and the house always smells good and looks good. Don't think I'll move out of this place anytime soon. *happy*

Weekend happenings...
So it is true that Shane has a thing for Asians gals. And I didn't believe Shiling when she told me that until last night. During the Quiz Night thing, Shane sat beside me and talked to me the entire night. Not that there's anything wrong with talking, but he actually asked me out to watch Charlie and the Chocolate Factory with him. I turned him down. Told him I promised to watch the show with the gals. Besides, I don't wanna watch the show with him anyway. I think its weird, I don't know what I'm going to say if I were to ever go out with him alone, like on a date or something. Anyway, I don't think I'll ever date him. I think he's quite charming actually, but I know Shiling and Joyce both don't like him and think he's irritating. At least he engages in interesting conversations with me, makes me feel comfortable and also makes me laugh. Apparently he told Shiling the next day that he quite like me. But I just cannot picture myself going out with him. Simply because he's 14 yrs older than me. Its crazy, it'll be like going out with my DAD or something, or an uncle. But he doesn't give me the feeling that he's 36 yrs old. He looks 30, acts like 30 too. I won't say I'm not tempted to go out with him, afterall its nice to have someone who tries to make you laugh and keep me entertained. But, I still can't get over the age barrier.
Overall, the quiz night was quite fun, had Shane to entertain me all night. What I was quite disappointed was that the other guys didn't really try to talk to us.. again.. Are they just shy? And when we supplied them with answers to the quiz, they doubt us. What? Are asians that dumb to them? Or are gals just dumb? Especially the guy named Ross or something. He's such a MCP, and so rude. He think he study law here big fuck or something. Pisses me off just thinking of him and his rude attitude.
Watched a DVD with my housemates just now. Its a movie about the life of Ray Charles Robinson, a talented musician who writes and sings top hits back in the 1960s. He kinda reminds me of Jay Chou. The show gives me an insight into the life of a celebrity, the kind of life that someone who is very very talented leads. Its kinda scary when I try to relate his life to Jay Chou's. Kinda spoil the image I had of him. The movie shows Ray Charles' humble beginning then went on to talk about his life when he was rich and famous. Not only did he sleep around when the women he worked with, he also took heroin. Which leads to me think if Jay Chou was like that too? Sleep around with gals he work with (like Jolin?)? Take drugs so that he can write such great songs? Yuck, I can't imagine the truth.
There's an awful lot of things going through my head... Gonna try to sleep it off and do some serious studying tmr.

I had fun today!
My housemates and I went for some bowling thing organised by my uni housing today. It was so cheap, like $6 for 3 games! It was a steal! Anyway, it was really fun. My housemates were hilarious, Amity was the best player, scoring average of about 100 pts each game. The other 2 gals weren't as good, but they made me laugh till I fell off the seat with their cute style of playing. Melissa looks very rigid when she's bowling, but somehow, despite her awkward posture, she still manages to hit the pins down, miraculously... As for Sarah, she won the most creative bowler award coz she bowls like she's dancing ballet, and its hilarious. She'll throw her hands up in the air after releasing the ball each time. I wonder why. But i guess its all these cute little stuff that brings up the atmosphere and makes everyone have fun! Yupz, the pic shows the 4 of us who bowled today. And after bowling, I went for some gathering at Shiling's place. We discussed about what food we're gonna sell at this fair in our uni in september. Sounds like fun, but sounds like hard work too. The gals are really ambitious, they wanna make kuey lapis, pandan cake, konyaku jelly, goreng pisang and some cornflake cereal. Thinking of the food makes me salivate already, but the thought of making them... WOW, sounds like mission impossible. I hope we can make a profit from selling all those food at the fair.
Totally drained by the bowling tonight, needa rest, tmr's gonna be another long day, coz there's some dinner thing going on and I hope it would be fun. Havent had a chance to dress up in a long time... Yay, finally can look pretty for once here... haha.. Sounds so bimbotic...

High on Frisbee
I think I'm in love with frisbee. Never really appreciated this sport back in Sgp, but after being introduced to this sport by Shiling, I absolutely love it! I think its not just the game but the people in the team as well.. hur hur... Just came back from training, I can't believe I actually wore shorts & t shirt and played frisbee in 5 degree celsius, no wonder my fingers were numb. But I had fun, got a few words of encourage from the captain, he said I was good at my "D" aka defence, haha... aussies and their lingo. I think sports is where I find solace, the times when I engage in sports is the time when I feel least discriminated against. I guess actions speak louder than words. When they see that I am really putting in effort to improve my game play, they start to warm up to me, which is good. Like just now, Shane coached me and taught me the right way to throw a forehand, and I really appreciated his help. Coz now I can say that my forehand is 70% "there" already. Yay! I also realised that Mike's really a nice guy too. Talked to him when I was on the sidelines, and he patiently explained the different game plays and strategies to me, or rather us, the few gals who weren't playing. And when I said I was freezing, and I really looked like I was freezing, he actually stood in front of me and tried to block the wind for me. Haha, so cute and so sweet! Starting to find a few nice people around in school and its good.
Bumped into my cute guy on main campus during lunch time today, and he didn't even say hi. WTF! I'm not if its because he didn't see or he is just pure rude and stuck up. Actually I think its the latter coz I was standing like right in front of him, and since he didn't smile or what-so-ever, I just walked right past him. And during training just now he didn't even say a thing about bumping into me! Gosh, I should just forget about him, cute guys are jerks!
My housemates baked chocolate brownies today and it made the entire lounge area smell of chocolates! Makes my mouth water whenever I walk out of my room. Sadly, she didn't offer me any of her yummy brownies, guess I will have to bake them myself. But I'm so clumsy, will prolly take me hours to prepare the stuff and get it baked. So I guess I should just buy brownies instead? hur hur.. excuses for myself... I should just stop thinking about chocolate brownies and get to bed. Hopefully that will stop the craving...

I love Avacado Milkshake!
Yay! I made my own avacado milkshake! Always wanted to made them ever since I'm here coz the avacados are so huge, and so cheap. 5 for $2, how cheap is that? But of coz, the milkshake I made wasn't as good as the ones I had back in NUS and Alexander market, not as smooth and not as creamy. I wonder what's lacking... I won't be making them again in the next couple of months, too fattening, so much milk and so much avacado, just thinking about the amount of calories scares me.
Had a freaking fire alarm this morning at 630 am! Madness, got jolted out of bed by the piercing noise of the siren and stupid announcements telling the residents to evacuate the building. And well, as this is my first time experiencing this kinda shock, I obviously went out of my room and took a good look. But no one's up. Think no one bothered until the thing went on for about 10 mins. My housemates finally woke up and went out to take a look, but they can't be bothered. Kept saying "Shut the FUCK UP!" so hilarious, no one's really taking the fire alarm seriously. I heard it went off once in the university hall in the middle of the night too. Apparently someone set fire to the garbage centre. How irritating, wonder who are the idiots who are so free to wake up in the middle of the night to do such things... kids these days...
Haven't seen any of my eye candies these few days, feeling bored, need something to spark up my life! Hope the frisbee training tmr can lift my spirits...

I like Wedding Crashers!
"True love is the soul's recognition of its counterpoint in another." That's what I learnt from the Wedding Crashers. I like the quote, I hope I can say it someday with confidence, that's when I find my true love. Anyway its a good show, funny, entertaining & sweet. I like Owen Wilson, he's cute, he looks kinda different from the last time I saw him from ShangHai Noon. At least its a good change.
My housemates partied like mad last night, well they party every saturday night, but last night was like a MAJOR, HUGE party, they drank like 10 bottles of some vodka thingy before heading to the clubs. And I think they came back quite late and made heaps of noise. When I got up the next day I saw 3 bodies lying on the floor of the lounge. Shocking! Then I found out that 2 of the bodies were my housemates, the 3rd one was their friend. I don't mind them bringing friends back and have fun, but when they sleep in the lounge its kinda inconvenient for me coz I can't make my breakfast without waking them up! So I just settled for the least noisy breakfast - cereals. Anyway I think I'm just fussy.
I had volleyball today again, YAY! I love playing volleyball, without pressure that is. I like the atmosphere at the training, mainly coz there were many asians around and I know I'm good at volleyball, so I'm kinda back in my comfort zone. This lady even told me that I'm spunky when I'm on court. Haha, and I didn't know what she meant. Luckily she didnt laugh at me, she explained to me that she thinks I'm fiesty on court and its a compliment! *Beams* Yay... There were new people at training today, some volleyball club from UniSA combined training with us. The players from UniSA are good! Especially the 2 blondies, but I think they're kinda stuck up. At least one was, the other one didnt even smile. How rude... Anyway I should be kinda used to these kinda treatment already. Some of the Aussies just don't really like Asians, and so happened I was in the same team as the stuck up guy. Luckily there's this Japanese gal who was in the same team as me. And she's so sweet! She kept smiling and her dimples just complement her Jap look, so PRETTY!!!
To sum it up, today is a pretty good day. I completed another assignment that I have to hand in, so yeah, 2 more to go. Time to do readings for my third assignment.

I'm thinking again
I'm feeling better now. Lam called me last night and talked to me for 30 mins. Not very long, but enough to lift my spirits a little. I told him that I was feeling down and he offered to come and accompany me today, so sweet. But I told him not to come coz I've got way to much work finish and I can't concentrate when friends are around when I'm studying.
Lam said something that really disturbed me. He said something about if a guy and a girl know each other for more than 2 months and nothing develops, they'll probably never end up together. This is scary. Since when did society evolve to this stage? Or is it everyone grew up and I'm still stuck at the young and ignorant stage? How much can you know about a person if you only knew him for 2 months? Not Much. I'm the conservative kind. I need to know the person well, and to know someone well I reckon it'll take at least half a year to see someone's true colours. So if I know all my guy friends for more than 6 months before feelings develop, does it mean I'll never get attached? This is scary.
I miss singing, miss going to karaokes... Well there is ONE karaoke joint here, but I reckon it'll be every expensive so I'm not too keen in trying it out anyway... I've been singing in my room, but the walls are so hollow, I guess my housemates probably heard me croaking through the walls... but luckily they're not complaining! But the lack of real practise is really making me sound like a frog when I sing, which leads me to sing less, which makes my voice sound more froggish.. which then reduces my singing which then...
Crap, I should just start on my other assignments and wait to go out for a movie with bro tonight.

Debut Entry
Its weird, and I said I'll nvr blog. I have loads of thoughts, but they nvr seem to last long enough inside my brain for me to pen them down. Maybe that's why I've nvr blogged.. Well, at least now I'm gonna start blogging, think its an avenue to vent my frustrations.
I've been here (Adelaide) for about 6 weeks now, and these 6 wks that have passed ain't the happiest days of my life. I always thought studying abroad would be so much fun, making new friends, staying with people my own age, without adults around to chaperone, without any inhibitions. But I was so wrong. I'm starting to miss home. Miss my parents, miss their cooking, miss my friends, miss my room, miss the weather back in Singapore...
I know its not gonna be easy living outside my home, like I know I've gotta be responsible for my own health, my own living conditions, but somehow when I'm are left to do all those chores, I really hit me: I'm on my own now.
I'm feeling down, very down. And I'm not even sure whats bothering me. School's fine, money matters OK, health alright, or maybe I do know what's bothering me. I don't have a social life. I miss xh, gao, xuanz, dean and karen. Miss the times when they're there for me when I'm feeling sad. Miss not having to make new friends, miss not having to "rehearse" what I say before actually saying things. Miss talking rubbish to friends who will not judge me.
Its not like I've got no friends here, I do have. The people I hang around here are mostly Singaporeans, they're a bunch of cool gals but somehow, something is missing. I feel like we're totally of the same clique. I enjoy myself when I'm with them, but... its different from hanging out the gals back home.
I think I'm being over sensitive, somehow I think the people here don't really like me coz I'm yellow & they are white. I'm not unsociable, and I'm not shy, at least not back in SGP. But here I just feel like I can't speak properly in front of them. Am i intimidated by them? I dunno. Or is it because I never try hard enough to talk them? Could it be that I'm intimidating them? I dunno... All these queries are driving me nuts & I can't organise my thoughts into coherent sentances.
Enough of my thoughts for now. Time to do grocery shopping... YAWN
